NOTE: On April 15th 2024 Softbank decommissioned their remaining 3G cell towers. If you wish to make/receive calls you must make sure the device you are using supports at least the Band 1 2100mhz 4G frequency and is VoLTE ( Voice over LTE ) capable. Please also ensure the VoLTE feature is active on your device.
Local Calls:
When placing a call to a local phone number within Japan, simply dial the number directly including the area code and the leading zero.
To call the Mobal Japanese lost/stolen emergency number for example, you would dial 0345501524 as shown in the example below.
Note: When dialing, enter numbers only and ignore any spaces or hyphens as these are not required (as shown in the example, some phones will automatically add these for ease of viewing – this is completely normal!).
Please be advised that your device must be VoLTE capable in order to place / receive calls (due to the recent shutdown of the Softbank 3G network).
Please also note that the number above should only be called if you do not have access to your account and need to report your SIM card as lost or stolen.
International Calls
When placing an international call, you must use the prefix “0063” followed by the country code (of the country you are calling to) and then enter the area code and phone number.
To call the Mobal U.S. lost/stolen number (212-785-5800) for example, you would dial 0063 1 212 7855800 as shown in the example below.
If the area code begins with a “0” however, you would generally remove this when dialing.
To call the Mobal U.K. lost/stolen number (01543-426-999) for example, you would dial this as 0063441543426999.
Note: All international calls must be dialed using the 0063 dialing prefix code. Calls dialed without this prefix will incur a ¥35 per minute surcharge.
Please be advised that your device must be VoLTE capable in order to place / receive calls (due to the recent shutdown of the Softbank 3G network).
Please also note that the number above should only be called if you do not have access to your account and need to report your SIM card as lost or stolen.
