The voicemail feature will be automatically enabled by default and so no additional setup should be required.

Accessing Voicemail

To access the voicemail service, simply dial 1416 from your device and follow the voice prompts.

Please note that the voice prompts may initially be spoken in Japanese.

After dialing 1416, please follow the steps below to change the voice prompts to English:

Press 2 at the first prompt –

Press 1 at the second prompt –

Press 2 to switch the prompts to English –

 

Voicemail Notifications

When a voicemail message has been left for you, you will usually receive a text message from the number: 1414

If your handset does not support Japanese, please be advised that the contents of the message may not be displayed correctly. However, you can still follow the instructions in this guide to retrieve the message.

 

Voicemail Retrieval

We can confirm that there will be no initial charge when a voicemail message has been left for you.

Should you decide to retrieve the message however (by dialing 1416), please be advised that you will be charged the standard call rate for placing an outbound domestic phone call.

Deleting your voicemail messages

If you want to delete the message after listening, press 7

Disabling Voicemail

If you would like to disable the voicemail feature, you can do so by calling: 0800-919-4006

Please note that the automated messages / voice prompts will be in Japanese.

Once the call has connected and you have heard the announcement in Japanese, please enter the following code on your keypad: 400#

After entering this code and hearing the announcement in Japanese, you can then disconnect the call as your voicemail service should now be inactive.

 

Re-Enabling Voicemail

If you had previously disabled the voicemail feature and you would like to activate it again, you can do so by calling: 0800-919-4006

Please note that the automated messages / voice prompts will be in Japanese.

Once the call has connected and you have heard the announcement in Japanese, please enter the following code on your keypad: 431#

After hearing the next announcement in Japanese, please enter one of the codes below on the keypad to choose how long you would like the call to ring before it is diverted to voicemail –

Press 1 – For 5 second ring time
Press 2 – For 10 second ring time
Press 3 – For 15 second ring time
Press 4 – For 20 second ring time
Press 5 – For 25 second ring time
Press 6 – For 30 second ring time
