How to call international / Non-Japanese phone numbers

When calling a non-Japanese phone number, you must use the prefix “0063” followed by the country code (of the country you are calling to) and then enter the area code and phone number.

To call the Mobal U.S. lost/stolen number (212-785-5800) for example, you would dial 0063 1 212 7855800 as shown in the example below.

To call the Mobal U.K. lost/stolen number (01543-426-999) for example, you would dial this as 0063441543426999.

*The numbers above should only be called if you do not have access to your account and need to report your SIM card as lost or stolen.

Please be advised that your device must be VoLTE capable in order to place / receive calls (due to the recent shutdown of the Softbank 3G network).

Note: All international calls must be dialed using the 0063 dialing prefix code. Calls dialed without this prefix will be charged at the higher international call rate.

Useful Tip – For the international numbers you call often, make a second entry in your contacts list with the number saved in Prefix 0063 format.  You can then use this entry for when you’re making calls and the original entry for when you are sending a text or using WhatsApp / iMessage etc.

Please note that calls to premium rate numbers (such as calls to satellite phones) or international video calls etc will be charged at a rate of ¥1,000 per minute.
