Plan Options:

If you have specifically selected a short term plan (such as the 30, 60 or 90 day option), please be advised that your SIM card will be permanently disconnected at the end of your selected service period.

After this point, it will not be possible to reactivate your SIM card and so you would be required to purchase a replacement SIM card (which would be assigned a new phone number) for any future trips to Japan.

If you would like to prevent your SIM card from being fully terminated at the end of your selected service duration, please follow the steps below to either extend your plan or switch to an ongoing plan. However, you would be required to do this at least 48 hours prior to your plans end date to ensure that your request can be processed in time.

 

Service Extension

If you would like to extend your service duration, please login to your Mobal online account: MyAccount

Please note that you would be required to submit your request at least 48 hours in advance of the plans end date to ensure that your request is processed in time.

Once you have logged in to your account, please click on the “Services” tab located at the top of the screen and then click on the “More Information” button next to your SIM card as shown in the image below.

You can then scroll down to the “Plan” section and click on the “Extend Service” button as shown here:

A new window will then appear where you can choose to extend your service duration by 30, 60 or 90 days.

 

Ongoing Plans

If you would like to switch from a short term plan to an ongoing plan however, please click on the “Upgrade Plan” button instead.

You will then be able to choose the ongoing plan you would like to switch to but you will be required to submit your request at least 48 hours in advance of the plans end date to ensure that your request is processed in time.

For any unused days of your short term plan, a credit will be added to your account for the required amount and so this will be deducted from your next bill.

Please also note that initially, you will only be able to switch to the 10GB plan or the 30GB plan we offer as your current short term plan includes a 7GB data allowance and this cannot be reduced part way through a calendar month. Once your SIM card has been placed on one of these ongoing plans however, you can submit a downgrade request (to switch to the 1GB or 5GB plan we offer) from the 1st of the following month if required.

We will process your upgrade request as soon as possible but please be advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the upgrade to complete.
