To use the service you will need to enable “Cellular Data” (also referred to as Mobile Data) and set the “APN” (Access Point Name) as: internet
Additionally, “Data Roaming” will need to be enabled if you are using the service outside of the UK.
IMPORTANT: As roaming fees and higher data usage rates apply in certain countries, we recommend that you check the rates before enabling Data Roaming – To view the rates click here.
If you disable Data roaming this will block cellular data usage in any country except the UK. This is the easiest way to control your data usage as you travel internationally. Just ensure you disable roaming BEFORE entering an area where you do not wish to use it.
The usual way of configuring a MiFi device is by accessing the admin site:
- Open a web browser on a device you have connected to the MiFi and enter the relevant IP address in the address bar (For example on a laptop open Internet Explorer and enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar).
- If prompted enter the admin username and password for your device.
- Go to Settings > Cellular/Mobile > APN and then update the relevant settings as detailed above.
