Satellite Phone Purchases:
Iridium:
When using an Iridium service, you will receive both a direct satellite phone number (beginning with an 8816 prefix) and also a “2-Stage Dialing” Arizona based phone number.
If your contacts call you directly using the standard satellite phone number, this will be a free incoming call (on the side of the satellite phone) but the person calling this number may be charged a high rate for calling internationally to a satellite phone. Your contacts would need to check this rate with their service provider.
If your contacts call you using the “2-Stage Dialing” number, your contacts will only be charged at the rate for placing a call to a standard Arizona based phone number. However, this will then incur an incoming call charge (at the rates specified for your plan) on the side of the satellite phone.
Inmarsat:
When using an Inmarsat service, you will only receive a direct satellite phone number (beginning with an 870 prefix).
We can confirm that your incoming calls to this number (on the side of the satellite phone) will be free of charge.
However, the person calling you may be charged a high rate for calling internationally to a satellite phone number. Your contacts would need to check this rate with their service provider.
Satellite Phone Rentals:
If you have ordered a ‘Satellite Phone Rental’ package, you will receive an Iridium 9555 device.
This means that (as mentioned above) you will receive both a direct satellite phone number (beginning with an 8816 prefix) and also a “2-Stage Dialing” Arizona based phone number.
If your contacts call you directly using the standard satellite phone number, this will be a free incoming call (on the side of the satellite phone) but the person calling this number may be charged a high rate for calling internationally to a satellite phone. Your contacts would need to check this rate with their service provider.
